La Bergerie
Bookings are Sunday to Sunday and minimum of a week.

Roses La Bergerie is a most unique house in the village of Trausse as it is a barn conversion. Its origin as the village bergerie or place where sheep stayed for the winter, allowed us to be extremely creative in the creation of this 4 bedroom maison. We have kept many of the unique parts of the original bergerie including where the animals accessed their food and where hay was stored. The house has been 100% renovated to the highest standard with Catalan red and yellow tiles in the lounge/dining area, antique French furniture, through to the gourmet kitchen and out to the sun drenched garden via the French doors . The different coloured bedrooms with French quilts and paintings make a stay in this house a lifetime experience. Every door (except the old barn front door), every window has been replaced to make this original bergerie as comfortable in summer as in winter. Look forward to enjoying a wonderful experience in this house and to really make it, in your words 'Our house in France'. The lounge room is especially comfortable and relaxing.

The kitchen also leads off this area and it is well equipped especially for those who like to try their culinary skills, having a Smeg stove with large fan forced oven and 5 gas jets, plus a microwave oven. A pantry/store area is at the end of the kitchen where there is a washing machine, iron and ironing board plus a fold-up sun lounge for use in the garden.

Access to the bedrooms is by a curving non steep staircase with ornate iron railing, there are 3 bedrooms with queen size beds on the 1st floor, 2 of the bedrooms have views of the Montagnes Noire, 1 has a view of Rue de la Bergerie. From the landing on the 1st floor you go up a wooden staircase to the 4th bedroom in the mezzanine/loft with 2 single beds and it has a view of the Rue de la Bergerie as well – all bedrooms have windows. There are 2 full bathrooms on the 1st floor - one with lovely deep claw leg bath, separate shower & Caunes marble washstand, plus a toilet. The second bathroom has a shower, toilet and basin. On the ground floor near the entrance is another toilet with antique basin.

La Bergerie also has the great walled private garden directly accessed through French doors from the lounge room and the kitchen, wonderful for casual dining in those long French summer evenings. It also has an outside shower for cooling off on a hot summers day.

In the house there is the wood burning stove and moveable heaters, 4 large fans on stands & smaller fans for summer, a washing machine, iron & ironing board – all linen/towels are supplied. There is a CD player/radio, and a flatscreen TV mounted on the wall with French channels and DVD + selection of DVDs.
